Do the Claims in This Text
Have Real Sources?

Paste an article, essay, report or paper section you want to check. AccuraCite picks out the claims that need a source, then looks for real peer-reviewed papers with verified DOIs that back each one, and flags the claims it can’t find support for.

*Free account, no credit card — 50 credits/month (1 credit per verification, 4 per citation search).

How It Works

  1. 1 Paste the text. Plain prose is fine. Sentences that already have a citation are checked like any other, while the author’s own methods and results are left alone.
  2. 2 We pick the claims. An AI model marks the statements that rest on prior research, such as findings, statistics and the state of the field, and suggests how many sources each deserves. You see the list first and can untick claims or change the counts, with the credit cost shown, before anything is used. The text itself is never rewritten.
  3. 3 We find real sources. Each claim goes through the same search as Find Sources for a Claim: candidate papers from academic indexes, checked against their abstracts, with retracted papers excluded.
  4. 4 Review and export. You also get a credit receipt, and the text back with a citation key after each claim that has support and a “no source found” note where none does, plus a BibTeX bibliography to export.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tell me whether the claims are true?

No. It finds papers whose abstracts support each claim in the text. If it can’t find a paper that does, that claim is reported as having no confirmed source, which is worth a second look, but it isn’t a verdict that the claim is false.

How many credits does a check use?

Same as Find Sources: 4 credits per source requested. We show the total before you confirm, and nothing is charged until you do. Each run is capped by your plan; if the text has more citable claims than the cap, the ones that most need support are suggested first. Sources we can’t find are refunded, and the report shows exactly what was charged.

Can I choose which claims to check myself?

Yes. Find Sources for a Claim lets you mark each spot with \cite(n) and choose exactly how many sources you want.

How long can the text be?

Up to 30,000 characters (roughly 5,000 words) per run. For something longer, check it a section at a time.
